Choosing an enclosed trailer

Most people over-buy on length and under-buy on height. Before you look at price, work out two things: the tallest item you'll ever load, and whether you'll be walking around inside it. An extra foot of interior height costs far less than replacing the trailer in two years.

The second decision is construction. Steel frame with aluminum skin is the value option and handles hard commercial use well. All-aluminum costs more up front, weighs less, and doesn't rust — which matters in Florida and matters more if the trailer lives outside.

Ramp door or barn doors is the third. Ramp for anything with wheels. Barn doors if you're loading by hand or by forklift and want the full opening.
